Why is age just a number to you?
Because age affects each person, their lifestyle, their job or their experiences. Some people are very tired at 65. Others - and I count myself among them - may no longer feel super young physically, but their minds are yearning for nourishment and challenge.
What do you like most/least about getting older?
What I like least is the increasing heaviness of my body. What I like most is that I simply don't have to do everything anymore. I've become more relaxed, I can choose what I want to do and I'm no longer obliged to do everything to be "in".
What advice would you like to pass on to the younger generation?
With all the social media, internet and technological possibilities, don't forget human closeness and real face-to-face conversation.
Why do you want to continue pursuing meaningful work?
On the one hand, I want to give something back to people who have not always had the sunny side of life through voluntary work. On the other hand, I still need something new for my head. And last but not least, I believe it is a civic duty to get involved in society and to stand up for the common good.
If you had one wish, what would you wish for?
Since I'm feeling really good at the moment, I hope it continues like this.
What would you like to tell the seniors@work team?
I congratulate the seniors@work team for collecting know-how from senior citizens and helping to preserve knowledge and put it to good use.
